Buying a Certified Pre-owned vehicle is a great way to purchase a vehicle without having to spend top “brand new car” money to get the car you’ve always wanted without having to break the bank.

CPO’s as they are referred to in the automotive industry, give the public trust that they are purchasing a premium car with the peace of mind and comfort that a CPO gives them. They’re generally going to be a little bit of a higher price for these types of cars versus used cars, but most CPO buyers are comfortable with that.

Detractors quickly point out the reality that a CPO is still a used car. There’s no denying this, but the consensus (especially if you take a moment to read auto forums online) is that it does come with a 200-point inspection that many vehicles don’t have.

When you factor that in with a dealership that you’re comfortable with, along with a reputation of selling Certified Pre-Owned vehicles, the hope is that your risk is being reduced.

Many manufacturers offer Certified Pre-Owned programs. Various amenities that are offered include items such as roadside assistance and towing as well as Rental and Travel breakdown coverage. These programs are there for the driver, so they’re assured that with their purchase, they have invested in a quality product.

It’s natural to question whether you go the route of purchasing a CPO vehicle compared to a brand-new vehicle. If you can find a high-quality car that has been certified and the dealership, you’re working with has a solid, trustworthy reputation, then that might be the best road for you.

Having a car that comes with a warranty of some type, even if it’s less than a new car purchase, is still worth it because of the peace of mind an individual is getting. Consumers should do their homework, talk to a few dealerships that carry CPOs, and certainly make sure their comfort level has been met. Of course, it’s still a used car but with Certified Pre-Owned vehicles, sleeping at night might just be a little easier.
